Across from the Gulf, 50 km from Montezuma, is the mainland of Costa Rica where taxi boats are available to whisk you over to the town of Jaco.
The hippie roots of Montezuma are most apparent during the small farmer's market held each Saturday morning. You'll find organic food and handicrafts, while musicians gather for a jam session.

There is a host of tour operators in Montezuma who take you to nearby sights and activities. A day jaunt to the Tortuga Islands includes snorkeling in crystal-clear water. Another popular activity is the canopy tour across the Montezuma waterfalls where you zip through a verdant river valley. Other options are scuba diving, fishing, surfing, horseback riding or yoga.

A must-see jewel for nature lovers is Cabo Blanco, Costa Rica's oldest Nature Reserve, located 9 km south of Montezuma.

Montezuma's biggest attraction, however, are its beaches and waterfalls. Explore miles of fantastic beaches which extend to both sides of Montezuma and hike up to waterfalls ensconced in the jungle.
